We Are ID'D: Providing Identification, Unlocking Opportunities
Journey Faith Group & Detroit Change Initiative (JFG & DCI) are community-centered nonprofits dedicated to breaking down barriers to obtaining a government-issued ID, birth certificate, or Social Security card, preventing thousands of students from accessing vital opportunities. We Are ID'D directly removes this barrier by covering ID application fees, birth certificates, Social Security cards, assisting with
documentation, and facilitating transportation to processing locations.
This year, we aim to provide 25,000 students across Michigan with identification documents.
Before expanding our efforts across state lines, they must start with Detroit, Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. The Detroit Change Initiative seeks sponsorships, mini-grants, and donations from businesses, organizations, and community partners to achieve this impactful goal.
